The Nikkei Internment Memorial Centre is in the town of New Denver, nestled in British Columbia's beautiful Slocan Valley. A former Japanese Canadian Internment camp, New Denver sits on the shores of Slocan Lake, in close proximity to other Internment sites including Rosebery, Sandon, Slocan City, Lemon Creek, Bay Farm, Popoff, and Kaslo.
New Denver is a nine hour drive from Vancouver, BC, and a seven hour drive from Calgary, AB.
There are a number of accommodations in town as well as camping on the lakeshore and in nearby Silverton.
